an open letter to the jackass driving 30 down this canyon this morning:
dear smarticus:
i would like to bring to your attention the long line of cars stacked behind your slow-moving ford ranger. see that? i didn't think so as you apparenlty are incapable of using your mirrors. in any event, all those now-miserable-commuter-types pounding on their dashboards behind you are interested in getting past your sorry, slow driving ass. see that extra lane to your right? you might consider using it, even for the briefest of moments, to allow us by. we will hold you forever in highest esteem.
while we are at it, let's discuss for a moment the physics of molecular binding of water on or around the freezing point. see, pretty much no matter where you are (on earth, at least and subject to slight effects due to pressure changes) water turns from liquid to solid at about 32 degrees fahrenheit (0 celsius for you centigrade types). if it is raining and oh, in the nighborhood of 40, you are pretty certain to not encounter any ice on the roads. just thought i might point that out for you since you apparently missed that day of highschool science class.
in any event, i just thought you might like to know that there are solutions to your obvious plight. pulling over is much more preferred by most,. but if you want to go for "getting run off the road over a cliff into a fast-moving creek" be my guest.
love,
stubert
