"exhausted"

so... i am a bit tired and will attempt to not ramble too much. this weekend, was long. REALLLLY long. i was trying to figure out exactly how many hours i worked on one project or another and came up with this magic number: 56. in four days.
so here is the run down of stu's most excellent labor day weekend o-rama...
friday: took off "regular" work to get all set up for the show. had to be in denver for crew-call at 7:30. had breakfast, got semi-organized, etc. then went to pick up equipment. after picking everything up, we tested everything and then went out to the venue (red rocks) to scout locations, get everything set up and whatnot. had some dinner, finalized some logistical stuff and in bed by 1:30-2.
saturday: we had crew call at 5 so i was up at 4:45. the weather was utter crap. socked in, raining. i called the director who said i could bag it until 8 so i went back to bed. the assistant director then came into my room and started milling around. grabbing gear, etc. said he was going to head on up and that he needed me to come out at 7 or so. so i didn't go back to sleep.
headed out to the venue. set up. rushed around getting last minute details resolved then we start shooting. it is overcast, cool, and the crowds are psyched. mostly for korn. i guess i don't understand that band but whatever. so we shoot a lot of video, crowd interviews, behind the scenes stuff, etc. shoot shoot shoot.
around 3, i head up to this place where we aren't supposed to really go to shoot. it is called "the cave" and is WAY above the crowd in this huge rock. while we were up there, it started pouring rain, coming down in sheets, lightning striking all around us. we jammed out of the cave to get to a drier location and found a better cave in which to weather the storm. the roots were playing this whole time so i missed them. but being up there during this kind of weather was amazing.
sooooooo... once it stopped pouring and lightning-ing, we headed back for more shooting, some artist interviews, etc. got to shoot the doors from the stage, which was pretty sweet, sit in on interviews with jonathan davis (korn), 50-cent, and.... wait for it... the coors light twins.
so, we wrapped up around 2, went to a bar to whack down a couple of shots, then i headed back to the hotel. bed by 3:45
sunday: bolted awake at 7. had to move my car as all the spots were taken when i arrived the night before. thought about going back to bed but said fuck it and stayed up. unloaded all the gear then headed for the hills. got home around 9 then started working on my friends' house at 10:30 doing some construction and roofing. worked til 6 or so then plopped down on the couch. tried to stay awake but passed out at about 7.
monday: got up about 9 and started roofing again. worked until 8, dinner then bed.
so all in all, it was a great weekend. i am horribly sleep deprived but i had a blast. shooting was fun. being able to go pretty much anywhere at the concert was cool. backstage was chaos but less so than i expected. so that is pretty much it. i need a nap
