All I can say, is why can't we have more public officials like Mayor Ray Nagin.

Now I know leaders in areas going through crisis always get a little bit of a hero status, but he's been amazing. He's in there crying w/ his people and getting in everyone's face. And I looked up some articles about his history, he's amazing.

I can't imagine being down there. Thinking of mothers watching their children suffer makes my stomache turn. And I can't believe it took our president so long to get his ass in gear to help. Not to mention why the fuck weren't we down there helping people get out of the city before the huricane????? A mandatory evacuation is really not all that helpful to people w/o the means to get themselves out. I don't understand how we couldn't help our own citizens more efficiently than we can help people oceans away from us.

as if there's not enough issues w/ our country right now, i just found out one of the members of 98 degrees is going to run for mayor of cincinati. Are all our political leaders going to be celebreties in the future???? WTF
