Cool. Back up in the old SG, and what do I find, but interviews with Henry Rollins and Dita Von Teese.

Gates of the West from the Clash on Broadway set in on my headphones right now.

I'm taking a break from the film, Russian Ark. Interesting thing about this film is that it was shot in a single take, all 96 minutes worth....

Saw the Cramps a few hours ago. They were the first band I saw upon moving to Denver. Four years later, they're just as fucking good.

Met up at the show with that girl I call my girlfriend. Though I don't see her very much, she still brings a shit-eating grin to my face. Did she ever look great tonight!

My days at VI are...

Saw Conflict tonight. Great as I expected. Whatever bullshit was in the venue, it wasn't up on stage! Even better, I got in for free, as I arrived purposely late. I just couldn't sit through that Total Chaos poser bullshit.

Still fighting with my woman.

Up for work in five hours forty minutes.

At least there's a chance of two former Yankee greats (Astros Petit and Clements) having a go at the fucking Red Sox. Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck

PUNK CAN TAKE IT! (And so can the Red Sox)

A good day. I hesitate to say that it was the first in a while, as my boss reminded me that every day I wake up is a good day. I can't argue. Better than most, of course, as the Yankees won AL championship series game two, and then I checked out the UK SUBS...

Reporting in from brother Julian's bunker.

Three times Social D in Denver wasn't enough. I dare say that the show I saw last night in El Paso was the best of the four. Didn't see any of the old veteranos, though. Drummer Charlie Quintana's family in attendence. Dig it.

Julian diga a pinche Erik, "What's up fool? Huffed any good paint lately?"

Hello.

If you get a chance, check out the Halloween Party in Denver being put on by SGColorado.

PS Gold spray paint, at that.
azurite:
If you can make it, the price of admission to the SGColorado party has been reduced to $5.

Music whore that I am, I've not listened to the new Social Distortion album at all today. Nevermind the eight years between records and the appropriate anticipation. Six times yesterday was enough. (E - Yes! It is that good. Try to find it at an indie shop for the free DVD.)

Now I've moved on to two new purchases: Ataxia featuring John Frusciante (RHCP), Joe...

You never can tell with those artist types, a great majority of them are flakes. I know this because I have to deal with them and it can be very frustrating. Sell CD's yes, crazy no, we must know the spirit in order to understand the transience of material reality and right now my material reality needs to be a bit more transient. They are a bunch of imports and out of print cd's that I do not listen too much. I bought them because they were rare, which in my mind is the wrong reason to buy music.

A tribite to a fallen hero by one of the few who's still kicking. Henry Rollins on Johnny Ramone. Dig it.

nullAs you probably know by now, Johnny Ramone (the guitar player of the one and only Ramones) died last week on September 15th. From what I have read and heard, he died in his sleep, surrounded by friends and family. About a week...

We're losing the good ones fast these days: Denis Danell, Joey Ramone, Lane Staley, Dee Dee Ramone, John Entwistle, Joe Strummer (Goddamn, I still miss you. frown ), June Carter Cash, Johnny Cash, Hubert Selby, Jr., Marlon Brando, and now New York Dolls bassist Arthur Kane.

Since Morrissey got them to play a few gigs, I was really hoping for a tour from the surviving Dolls....

High atop the myriad of reasons why I love Denver is the tremendous music scene, local or not. I was fortunate enough to catch tremendous shows on both Saturday and Sunday nights by 16 Horsepower and the mighty Throw Rag respectively.

The latter of these acts hails from here, and although they tour frequently in Europe, they rarely plays US gigs outside of Denver.

If...
