Another weekend approaches. Here's what is on tap.
Friday: A friend is driving down from Detroit to hang out with the rest of us stuck at IU, so my friends are throwing a big dinner thing so we can all get together. Probably eat an awesome meal, destroy people at guitar hero and maybe hit zie bars after that. There also might be a lively debate on the question I posed on my blog and the facebook last week which was....Who would win in a fight between Conan the Barbarian and The Kurgan?
Please, if you have any thoughts weigh in your opinions and I'll add them to the results. If you just want to see the results that my expert panel came up with they are right here.
After that, they've got a ShoBox card featuring four prospects which is basically a warm up to a good boxing weekend starting tomorrow.
Saturday
Up early to watch Celtic vs. St. Mirren in an SPL match up followed by the US Men's National Team playing their first game in months against Denmark on ESPN2 at 2pm(est). I'm not happy about where US Soccer has gone in the past few months, so it'll be interesting to see how the team plays and if we get our butts handed to us by a Denmark "A" team, then Gulati should feel some heat.
IU vs. Uconn in basketball at 345 should be a good one as well. Go Hoosiers.
Then its a night of boxing which as always can be discussed in our lovely group The Sports Zone. Somehow, we still can't get an SG Boxing group going, which is really disappointing, the interest is there, one would think we'd be able to get one seeing how there are bazillions of inactive groups and groups that definitely don't have the interest out there that have their own...sigh.
Anyways, here's the card that starts at 9:45pm on HBO.
Should be a good night, if both Hatton and Castillo win, June 2 is when they face off. Also, Valuev fights McCline in Switzerland for the Heavyweight crown...or rather part of it. I'll have to download that one as its not shown in the states.
Sunday
Hopefully getting a Wii at Best Buy, rumor is they are out that morning.
That's it for the weekend, as always these plans will probably go to shite, but who knows. Enjoy your weekend.
Slainte!

Rumour here today is that James Beattie had a medical at Ross Hall Hospital yesterday before his move to the Hoops. We shall see.
maybe if he spent less time acting he would actually know how to play football.
