I have no need for anger with intimate strangers and I got nothing to hide."

This song is by the Indigo Girls. It's called "Reunion" and it reminds me of going to my annual family reunion when I was a teenager. Everyone loved to gossip about me (my crazy hair, or odd clothes) but never stopped to take a look at their own lives (or to even talk to me for that matter). At least I have always been true to who I am and have never made excuses for it or tried to hide it. Most people know everything they need to know about me. There really isn't much to talk about behind my back, I'm more than happy to hear what you have to say about me face-to-face.
Life is too short to judge others. I have enough to deal with in my own life, I certainly don't have to make other peoples lives my concern.
Who is a bad man but a good man's teacher?
Not to be ornery, but there might be a tad of judging necessary. Or maybe it's not judging? And until you honestly know the history and motives, it IS unfair...
But to judge on the basis of appearance? My youngest brother is a wonderful example. A lot pf people are missing out, he's a great kid (24 years old) just because he has a few tattoos...that cover most of him. I know Mom and Dad have chilled considerably on their judging, especially since I came home with my first tattoo.
Not trying to be argumentative, just being introspective into some facets of my life. And now I'm babbling. Sorry
