Took my 1st drum lesson last night. People kept telling me not to but I was glad I did. I played when I got home last night until my brain was completely fried and could absorb no more. Also the skin on my hands is a bit dry and while my roommate and I were jamming the other night the skin on my right thumb split open in a line about half-an-inch long; now my sticks are bloodstained.
My armada of stalwart B & T-cells seems to have finally gotten the better of those prokaryotic infidels who were roaming the corridors of my body. I have to admire those little fuckers. They have chosen a strategy that, while much different than our own, has proven very successful.
They have sacrificed lifespan, multicellularity, and individual power for adaptability, sheer numbers, and more rapid evolution. In one human generation(unit of evolutionary change), how many generations has a line of bacterial cells gone through? Arguments like these are the reason doctors are more reluctant to prescribe antibiotics these days, and concommitantly the reason why I had to wait for results from a throat culture(the doc said I was one of the best patients she'd had in terms of not flinching/gagging during the swab; I was sorely tempted to reply that I was used to getting things rammed down my throat but thought better of it) until I could start taking azithromycin.
Classes started yesterday. Yippee-fuckin-skippy. UGA can bite my shiny metal ass
.
I went to trivia at the Blind Pig Tavern the other night and we won 2nd place. Also got best team name award for "I Sold Your Dog to a Chinese Restaurant". Props to AC.
