I had a judge call me naive the other day. She then went on to tell me that sometimes I just need to accept that justice cannot be achieved. This from a woman that I had looked up to. Her early career was amazing. She accomplished some truly incredible things. It made me sad to see how cynical she had become. I know she was trying to help. I think she is worried that I will burnout. Or that I am continually setting myself up for disappointment. The thing is, I'd rather try and fail, than sit by and ignore something I know is wrong. Sure, she's right. Sometimes you can't make things better. That doesn't mean you don't try.

You'd probably be jaded too if you were a judge. I mean, can you imagine the crap they put up with and see every day? Shitty lawyers, shitty cases, BORING cases. I'm sure it wears you down.
