*makes self a cup of hot chocolate spiked with Baileys*
I didn't have the best of days at work. It's all to do with a tactless colleague who rubbed me the wrong way. Not so much what she said, but how she said it.
Before lunch she comes up to me and says, "OK, I want you to stop billing until January and start helping log the invoices on and off. You also need more training on billing, so in January you'll sit with me & so and so for a couple of days." She goes on about how she and so&so now have to do some credits, which is bad because the company loses money, yada yada yada...
I know I'm not getting all the billing codes, etc. exactly right and need to be more familiar with those. However, I ALWAYS make sure the amount on the invoice matches the amount on the work order form before I generate it. So I don't really understand where said discrepancies are coming from. Anyway, seeing as this person isn't even a supervisor or anything, I quite resented her bossiness!
And then after lunch, I see that the stack of things to be billed is quite small, and the stack of things to be logged off is quite huge. My colleague says, "see, with so&so on Holiday until January, this is helping me out so much!" Now if THAT'S what she meant by, stop billing until January, it kinda came out wrong, don'cha think?! One thing I AM doing in January is having a word with my boss about this little situation before my colleague does!
I've also been following the news about the tsunami, which may well be the worst natural disaster in the recorded history of the planet. My cousin went to Malaysia on Dec. 6, and then went on to Sydney, AUS on the 21st, so she got out of that part of the world in just the nick of time! Wow!
It is a sobering reminder of all we take for granted, though. I mean, suddenly a winter storm that fucks up the roads and leaves some folks without power for the better part of a week doesn't seem quite so bad!

Glad you're cousin got out!
Are you going to church tonight?
