Wisdom. Wisdom is tough to come by in these quickly changing times. Buried by advertisements, useless arguments and distractions.
I have been incredibly fortunate to share the company of wonderful (and wise) people, yet I have noticed the wise voices have started to be drowned in a sea of louder, pathetic voices.
Wisdom comes from both the young and old, but more importantly wisdom is often gained by hardship and adversity, experience, love, loss and sacrifice. Wisdom isn’t gained by sitting behind a screen, or typing on a phone. Wisdom is gained by listening, losing and by making mistakes. It grows when we admit that we are wrong. It flourishes in the moments we are most uncomfortable, when we push ourselves past that discomfort. Wisdom has no use for labels. Wisdom transcends identity. It has no agenda.
In a world where many seem to be “triggered” and/or are all too quick to tell others how they are wrong, I see it as a lack of real life experience, mental toughness, fortitude and empathy.
