Hi!
You know those times, especially in emotional discussions, where you see something, jump in with a reply, and then later you realize, what you said was dumb?
Here's a method I've been using to prevent myself from doing that.
1) Bookmark https://e.ggtimer.com/5%20minutes
2) When you want to reply to something, open that page in a fresh tab, then tab back to what you are replying to and read it again. And think. And read it again. And think. Until the egg timer expires.
3) You may then reply. :)
My level of stupid-on-the-internet has gone down significantly.

This is good to know! I tend to just say what’s on my mind without filter and that sometimes leads to hurt feelings... I will look into this!!!

I think this is the root of problems in modern discourse! It's why I don't do twitter, etc. I prefer ye oldie forums because they're built around longer form responses, which encourage some thought. So, unless I'm discussing something mundane, I do tend to give myself a few hours (at least) before hitting submit. It's purely self defensive though, as I sound like a complete moron if I don't give myself time to compose my words lol
