I love everyone, and I know you mean the best for people, and I know you want to help. But some people are just fucked up and lost and beyond help, and I don't want the rest of you to get bogged down trying to assist the ones who are beyond hope.
The good news is, nobody (who-is-alive) is beyond hope/help in all ways. Some people who are irreparably damaged in some ways, can receive help in other ways. And if someone is damaged beyond repair regarding sexuality, or politics, or art, you can perhaps help them enjoy a normal-ish life in some other subject or area. But if somebody voted for trump, they are never going to vote for Bernie. And if somebody is fucked up about sex, you can't fix that. The best you can do is try to ease their life in other ways, if that's compatible with your happiness. But please don't spend so much effort trying to fix the unfixable that you sacrifice yourself. The world needs a large number of functional, whole people to continue on and fix the wrongs of the past, and if you are potentially functional, potentially whole, or both, don't throw that away trying to fix lost causes.
