I've found myself in the midst of a China kick. There may be a number of both deep and shallow psychological reasonings behind the infatuation, none-the-less - it's there. I picked up a book on culture and political history throughout as organized by the dynasties awhile back and have been reading it when I'm tired of disassembling Motorola 68K effective addresses (zzzzzzzz....). A good friend at work (native Tawainese) is teaching me some mandarin during breaks in homework and actual work. So far I've got shi-shi (thanks), wa (me), ni (you), and...dammit, already forgot the casual greeting. Contemplating taking chinese in the summer - we'll wait until summer to see this infatuation is more than just that.
Today was final finals day with mixed results all 'round. Computer architecture was pleasant, databases was good for non-database reasons, and data algorithms was hard during the non-algorithms part. Next quarter is promising with operating systems and 'Parallel and Distributing Computing Systems." WORD to distributed computing, y'know? Special awesome super note: these two classes put me in the realm of a distributed computing research position for the summer.
So I've got a little less than 2 weeks of straight chillin'. I'm looking for some place to drive, chiznill, and make-out for a day or two. Actually, if I get to chill with somehow who thinks makin' out kicks ass, I'll stay as long as they wanna make-out. Make-out, anyone? To go, please.
Alright, hoes - I'm about to get neck deep in patchbays and protools.
edit: I think the China kick may be less ex and more cute Tawainese girl at work. I know, I know...I am so very very lame.

You should read Creation by Gore Vidal. It would help satisfy both your newfound literature kick and your (albeit ancient) China kick simultaneously. Also, it's rad.
