Playing music at work that makes customers squirm is -great-. All it takes is "The Moon & Antartica" and everybody gets this far-off look of alienation in their eyes or else they just shift a lot and leave ASAP.
That reminds me of this day a few months ago when I was playing that album at the other convenience store I worked at. One guy asked if I actually liked that crap, which I replied with a resounding "Yes!" Then later in the album this 10-year-old was in the store with his dad and said "This is the best band ever!" I asked if he knew who they were and he nodded enthusiastically. His dad was just shifting uncomfortably. I kind of felt bad for the kid, though. That's a pretty depressing album. For a ten-year old to relate to it is a little disturbing.
