I must start updating more often. I haven't had time to myself in a few weeks, though. This guy I met at work has been crashing at my place for a while and I haven't been able to get any solitude this whole time. I need solitude. I have no idea why, but I do.
So, this guy who's my age and who I think is homeless has been here for at least a month straight. No job, no money, nowhere to go. He's nice, but I'm wondering how long this will last. I've been avoiding talking to him about it because I don't want him to feel uncomfortable here if he's got no other place to go. We've gotta figure things out soon, though.
Yesterday I woke up to something hitting me. I looked up and saw the cats on the floor and started to drift back to sleep when I caught a glimpse of a moving object in the air. I saw this thing fly around the room in circles. A bird!? It circled the room in two seconds and every time it'd get to me I'd lift up my pillow so as to ward off any collision. It zipped around again then rested for a split second on the door frame - upside down. It was a bat. It circled the room for five minutes straight. Once it passed my corner I pulled down the top part of my window which had no screen and shoved myself back as it zipped by me again. After a minute it still hadn't exited through the window, instead choosing to explore the rest of my tiny little apartment. I went through and pulled down all the screenless sections of the windows. My roommate and Nate, who was on the couch, didn't wake up. My big cat stood on her hind legs at one point and grabbed the bat in her paws. I didn't want her to kill it, so I yelled and she let it go again. After some more time I went into the bathroom and when I came out the bat was gone.
The thing that hit me yesterday morning was the bat. It left me with a nice scratch mark.
Last night the bat made another appearance as Dan, Nate, Mike (my brother) and I were watching "Adaptation". We have pictures of it now, though. The bat's hidden again and I'm just wondering if it's still around or if it made it back outside.

karmachameleon:
I'm just gonna tell you now that if the bat ever makes an appearence when I'm over, I will scream like a woman and hide in the corner weeping. Just so you know.
