Here is one of my first Geometrical designs that I drew. These designs look really neat, and people seem to enjoy them a lot, but I feel as though the meaning is lost on most people. It's no more than a cool looking drawing...When in fact, each of the pieces I draw has significant meaning. Every line is there for a purpose. Every dot. Every shape created. They are very special to me, and I just wanted to share :)
I create these drawings based off of Sacred Geometrical patterns, mandalas, and platonic solids. I change my drawings and add more detail the more I learn about numbers, geometry, music and cosmology. More often than not, they represent the One-ness of the Cosmos.
This is a very complicated one and one that I've drawn for myself. I do ask that nobody use this as a tattoo, unless you're prepared to pick every line a part in its meaning. I've had a few people ask, and although it really flatters me that people want it on their skin, I don't think I'm comfortable with them not knowing or understanding or believing in it's meaning. It's not a "cool" picture to me. It's not complete, and I will likely revise it a few more times. This piece includes the Tree of Life, Lunar Cycle, our Solar system, Human DNA, The Seed of Life.
I've been learning to meditate over the past while, and it's turning out to be a very difficult practice. Many people think you can pick up a book or audio cd for guided meditation and be on your way to "enlightenment" (meditation is not about reaching enlightenment!). But this is just not true...It is a difficult path, with many different practices, and not every path will be right for you. At this moment, I just started learning contemplative meditation. In this practice, you hold a small simple object. Something like a match stick. The idea of meditation is to train your mind...This is the hardest part. Holding the object, you contemplate it without words. Looking, but not thinking. Your mind will flood with thoughts...Song lyrics, words to describe the object, thoughts of what you did earlier and what you still need to do in the day. Just gently push the thoughts out, and make yourself turn back to the task. This is a very basic description of this meditation.
I've been on this meditation for about 4 days now, and still have a ways to go. Before this I was doing 15 minute breath counting meditations. It will likely be months or years until I find the path for me, but I'm really enjoying the benefits so far. I feel an inner calm coming over me, you could say.
I also registered for my level one Reiki Healing class here in Vancouver. I'm really excited about it!
