I Promise I'll upload some pictures tomorrow, guys! But for now...Exciting news and a recap of the day!
Highlight by far was Felicia Day. Besides being GORGEOUS, she was completely amazing to listen to, and I learned so much about her! The thing that stuck with me most was when she talked about never really labelling herself, and just being who she was. She never liked certain things or did things because of other people...She liked certain things, found others who liked the same stuff, and shared her love with them, which is her definition of what being a "Geek" is. Geeking out with people who love the same stuff, whether it's Dr.Who or motorcycles or what have you. She also mentioned that if she regrets anything at all it's that she didn't always allow herself in the past to enjoy the present experience. Not to focus on the end product, but to enjoy the journey as a whole. There were a lot of younger girls there obviously, a lot of fangirls. And I think it was important for a lot of them to hear that from her since they idolize her so much...They tend to let the whole "Geek girl" and "Fangirl" and "Nerd girl" labels get to them. "I know more about ___ than you do!! I love ___ more than you do! I'm a bigger nerd derpdy derp derp" It's like NO..Shh...Just shhhhh....
Also Misha Collins was pretty cool. But I didn't really understand most of the references that the audience made so I zoned out for most of that :3
OOO Yesterday I met DJ Qualls. He asked what was wrong with my arm, and I told him I had surgery. He wanted minor details so I told him about the staples. Then he got super grossed out, and exclaimed that that was why he could never have kids...If they broke a finger he'd just give it away
So funny. I was entertained. (DJ is the tall skinny nerdy guy from "Road Trip" and "The New Guy" if you don't know who he is).
As I mentioned in my previous blog, I'm not much into Television, so I can't really relate to it all? Like it's been a very interesting 2 days at Vancon and I've definitely enjoyed it, but it's not something that I would sign up to do if it wasn't for my friend needing a buddy to go with.
Now..Comicon is a little different. So is Pax. There are things at both those conventions I can fully obsess over and relate to and I would die to go to Pax UUUGGGHHH FFUUUCCKKK....Somebody take me to PAX this year OMFFF.
I suppose I'll end this blog with the exciting-ness I mentioned up top there...
Tomorrow Scarlettxx and I are shooting with Ituit for The New Amsterdam Cafe! Super stoked for that. Not only that..Buuuutttt....On Wednesday, I'm shooting my third set with Ituit. Scarlettxx is ALSO shooting her third set in my apartment. AND THEN....Ituit is shooting a multi set of Scarlettxx and I.
