So Im home from the cabin and i feel a whole lot better. Im glad to be back though cuz theres some people that i really missed and wished could have come with me. I thought it would have been great to have an SG thing up there but im not sure if the area could handle alot of people and i have no idea how to work it out anyway. Well, maybe i can work something out at a later date. Cuz honestly I wish you all could have been there. Man, i must really love or hate you people, depending on if you actually want to read this rather lengthy post, cuz im updating this before i even unpack.
I havent been up to that place in about 8 years and man, has it ever stayed the same. All rustic and backwoods just like I remember it. Last time i was there the place was really run down and in disrepair. This time, however, its in probably the best shape its ever been in, excluding when it was first built sometime between 1870 and 1880 by my great great great grandfather. Of course its been kept up over the years but i was absolutley shocked to see it in that good of condition. Which was great cuz that meant we didnt have to pitch the tents. I really need to remember to call and thank my cousins for cleaning the place up. We're already planning a return trip to replace the roof tin and the front and back porch. Not sure if thatll happen this year or not but one can always hope.
The cabin is about 20 or so miles west of Walden. Believe me when i say it is the best place on the planet so realx and enjoy yourself out in the middle of nowhere. It ended up being myself, Maxwell_Demon, Yikes, My buddy Jon, and another buddy of mine by the name of Dan. The ride up there went by super fast. It usually takes about 3 hours but i think we made it in 2 since we were doing about 100 all the way there. By the way, max and dan are not allowed to drive on the road trips ever again. They are way to fucking competitive. We basically hung out for the first day and night we were up there and did nothing but wander around and decompress. We hauled a kings ransom in alcohol up there but strangley none us really had that much to drink. Well, strange to them anyway, i expected that. The area around the cabin has a way of mellowing you out making the need for alcohol almost the last thing on your mind. Its just so peaceful and stress free that you sort of forget about things like that. We ended up making those MREs that we brought up the first night for dinner and you know what? Dan was right, theyre not half bad. My uncle Billy and our friend Sean showed up later that night too and best of all they remembered to bring the telescope! The stars up there are so beautiful that they would make a grown man cry from joy. We need a city-wide blackout so i get some of that here.
The next day was spent milling around and just generally relaxing. Some of the guys went on a small (ya right fucking 10mi) hike up to the Rainbow lakes. Other than that we just spent the day shooting targets with my slingshot, which snapped by the way, and my .22 rifle.
This morning we woke up and cleaned the place up and packed and came home. Got in about 2 hours ago and i already want back out of the city.
Thats really about it. I guess we really didnt actually do much other than realx and talk about nothing for 2 days. But hey, thats exactly what i needed.
I also finally figured out how to post pictures so some of the ones from the cabin are up and now that i know how i will put up the age old Casa Bonita pictures too. 1 hour photo finishing is awsome by the way. So go take a look. I took alot more pics up there but i never have good luck with photography and most of them dont turn out. But enjoy the ones i did take that came out.
How all you cats doin'? I trust you had a good weeked?

My weekend was pretty uneventful... worked my ass off at labor ready to make some extra cash and somehow we ended up broke by the end of the weekend. *scratches head, having nothing to show for it really* Blockbuster is having a deal where you can rent unlimited videos until sept. for $15. Pretty sweet deal if you love movies as much as I do.
Welcome back
