The Boston Tattoo Convention was alot of fun this year! The past 2 years were very hectic and I never had any money to buy anything; let alone get any ink at the convention. This year's convention was the best out of the 3 I have worked. All in all, the people were very friendly, the attendees were there for the culture of the event and I met some very nice people.
Fri: The majority of people were there to get ink done and it wasn't like last year's event where everyone came to look but not get work done. It seemed as if every both had a customer in a chair or they were discussing appointments for the next day. I was told that I am "cute" by a huge, gay black man wearing a black leather fetish mask named MC ZAP (Zorro Ass pirate). The needles started zapping right at 12 for the opening. I got the itch to start looking for something get done!
Sat: The day was packed with people getting ink done, voyeurs and alot of families came out this year. The only bad aurora at the convention was 1 artist who was fired at the start of the day and his boss refused to allow the artist to tattoo at the event because he didn't want the guy to represent the shop that the boss owned. All the Suicidegirls were very good at persuading me to seriously consider getting R2D2 tattooed on my ass in old-school style flash with the heading "Wingman" on it. I really wanted to get the piece, but my funds were low this year...again
Sun: The final day was a great ending. It was the down day where everyone got their work finished or touched up, the crowd entered in at good, steady intervals and everyone's attitude was pleasant. There was a casting call for an artist to be hired for the show INKED. My gf had a chance to talk to my friend Joe Boo and she is soon going to get both of her nipples pierced...HOTT! HOTT! HOTT! I left the convention with a very nice tip from Natan, my girl and some really nice tattoo prints for my room. I ended the night at a very pleasant restaurant in Chestnut Hill and I had the best Chicken Picata I ever tasted!
