I did not make as much progress as I had hoped yesterday. As I tear apart the house I find all kinds of things wrong and this project has not been an exception. So spent yesterday building a temporary set of supports so I could cut out a piece of rotten cross beam. Then I installed the replacement cross beam and added some additional support. So today I should finally get the new shower in place.

The other thing you find when tearing apart old houses is weird stuff in the walls. At the turn of the century they used old newspapers for insulation. This little find gives us a preety good date for when the house was built, March of 1902. The date on the newspaper is March 8th, 1902.

Thank you, Mizoo. When you have a 100 year old house, I think you have to become a handy man by necessity. I am just trying not make any major mistakes as I work on it and that usually means it turns out pretty well.
