In case you have not heard Ticketmaster announced plans to merger with Live Nation. This would create the largest vertically integrated company in the events business. What it means for musicians and other artists is that unless they are in the fold they will be locked out of many venues. What it means for venues is that unless you use them you will not get the good acts stopping at your venue. And for consumers, since we already know Ticketmaster does not care about consumers, expect more of the same and less places where you can go to a concert or event without paying the Ticketmaster "tax".

If you feel inclined to act, please write the Federal Trade Commission and your local member of Congress and the Senate. Tell them this merger would be bad for everyone and would violate anti-trust laws.
