Man, the more I learn about the political and social culture of New Orleans, the gladder I am I live in the Holy City of Anchorage. Whole new appreciation for my town.
I've always wondered if some horrible crises occured if the people in my community would come together relatively harmoniously or if it would be a more horrific experience.
My cynical and paranoid side believes that since I don't have a gun and have poor vision, with only contacts (no glasses) to help me see, that some gun owning thug will take my girlfriend into his harem and force me to dig for grubs in whatever post-catastrophe world I find myself in.
What happened in New Orleans made me feel less crazy in a sense that I'm not delusional in fearing this scenario. Am I right in deducing that Anchorage is a pleasant exception to this sort of social meltdown?
