Huh. My brother revealed to me for the first time how he went to jail last February.
He was boarding a flight for Juneau to lobby the legislature for the university. As he was passing through security, one of the TSA puds said "I suggest you remove your shoes." My bro didn't take his suggestion and walked through the metal detector fully shod. They freaked, got a guard to come over, sat him down in a chair and this time ORDERED him to remove his shoes, which they swabbed and passed explosive sniffers over.
As they did this, he commented "You guys are wasting both our time. You should just do this to Arabs." One of the TSA flunkies looked up in horror and literally ran to call the cops stationed outside the airport.
Three cops come and stand around my brother, trying to intimidate him. "You need to leave, sir."
"Why? I haven't done anything wrong. I used to work at the airport, there's nothing you can do if I haven't done anything wrong. You're just being assholes and trying to intimidate me."
That tore it. They cuffed him and drove him to Cook Inlet Pre-Trial (AKA, jail). He calls his lawyer who gets an arraignment.
This is where it gets interesting. The magistrate starts asking the arresting officer what the charges are. The officer explained what happened. The magistrate says "So what are the charges? Was he was disrupting public order? Being abusive? " The cop said "Well, no.......not really. He's just one of those Constitutionalists. which my bro's lawyer thought was great since they were tape-recording the arraignment. The charges were dropped, but his lawyer requested a copy of the recording. They said they'd make a copy and get it to her.
Somehow, the tape got lost in the bureaucratic shuffle.

Sometimes I think you and I are the only people on this site with the guts to defend Gorge Bush. So, you are my hero.
