Fixed exhaust on car, took it in to be IM/d so I can renew the registration. It failed miserably, and there are yet more repairs to make on it.
My friend's going to be pissed. I'm buying one of his cars, but I need the money from selling this car. I cant sell it without an IM. And tomorrow I get the PFD check. I have to get my car on the market before any potential buyers piss their free money away, and get my deal squared away before Paul goes back up to the Slope next week. Screwed, screwed, screwed. Goddamn my piece of shit car.

Cars suck when they don't work and I hate working on them.
Your mate Paul , does he work at North Slope on the oil stuff,
who does he work for. I'm with BP in the North Sea.
IM= Emissions inspection. Every 2 years you have to pay a tax on owning your car, if you want to drive it on the streets legally. If you live in the city and have an old car, you have to pass a pollution inspection before they let you pay your tax and drive legally. It's about $200.
PFD= Permanent Fund Dividend. The profits from Alaska's $24 billion in oil money investments are distributed equally among the 600,000 residents each year. This year, it's $1.100. I receive it today.
Yeah, Paul works for BP as a cook at their main camp on the North Slope. I have worked for oil service companies like Halliburton and Schlumberger, doing both construction of their facilities and operating their equipment up on the North Slope, but never for the oil companies themselves..
