first- i want to thank everyone for their support for 102. it means so much.
secondly- i am heartbroken to report that she has taken a turn for the worst. at around 5 pm today she went into cardiac arrest. i got to the hospital within 5 minutes and she was into her third one. i held her face and kissed her throughout it. her heartbeat & blood pressure monitors were all flat lined which is the scariest thing in the world. i don't think i will ever forget that image. the cardiac surgeon said that he didn't think she would make it as he has never seen a dog turnaround from as bas as she was. we thought we lost her for good but then her heart started beating [but with very low blood pressure - in the low 40s] and her kidneys weren't functioning.
it took a lot of drugs and luck- but she did it. for the last few hours her pressure is up and if she can rest through the night and let her heart recover and grow stronger [it is very badly damaged now]- there is a chance [very slight] that she will be coming home with me. my doctor said that it would be a miracle if she made it through the last cardiac arrest. when she did- he was astounded- smiled & laughed [which he never does- he's a very nice man but very calm cool & collected] and said well she made a liar out of me! yeah- 102! you show them!
please please pray for her. she is in a very very delicate spot right now. i think she knows how we much need each other because she is not giving up! we need to stay positive & still root for the 102. she needs it now more than ever.
thanks everybody- i'm gonna try to sleep now. she's gonna need a clear-headed me tomorrow!
