yesterday, i took students to see our local college's production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Good production with some interesting choices (Shakespeare's language, modern costume and set, a percussionist on stage giving mood and texture, modern style fight scenes). the students that i took really enjoyed it and talked about it heavily when we got back to the school.
the students i didnt take? oh man, they whined and cried and pouted. it is four boys that talk back, dont do their work, come to school stoned and get stoned again at lunch, ditch constantly, and are consistently 10min late to class. i saw no reason at all that they should go. and i found their whining comical at best.
today, the senior class is gone so i can work on stuff to complete my license. this busy work is driving me crazy. the director that over looks my work is trying to get me to quit. i wont. my mentor, principal, and super think i am doing fine; i dont know what this woman's deal is. i do know that other people have had problems with her and that she is not being asked to be back in this role. ugh.
