I am here at home, procrastinating kind of on the paper I have to write. It has gone pretty smoothly though. Reading about the police brutality in Denver, CO sucks! I hate this kind of shit.
My parents were living in Boulder, CO in the early '70s during the Chicano Civil Rights Movement. My mom went into labor and my dad drove her to the hospital. She was in the back seat of the Ford Galaxy, laying down so you couldn't see her. A Colorado State Trooper saw my dad going through a YELLOW light, with his flashers on, and decided that because it was a dark brown Chicano male something must be up and he RAMMED him with the police cruiser. My mom remembers going around and and around until the car stopped.
The cop still didn't believe my mom was pregnant and the next day visited her in the hospital and asked "Where is that baby you were supposed to be having?" My mom told him that I was in the next room, and the cop left without saying a word. UGH
