I am re-reading Whitman's "Leaves of Grass" and I am totally blown away by it. Why this didn't happen the first time I read it, I have no idea. This is brilliant. And his own introduction thoroughly kicked ass.
That means during Christmas break my reading my consist of philosophy. i may read Thoreau, Emerson, plus I have "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance"....

I had that happen to me with a couple of books where I couldn't start them and then just gave up. Then, years later, I went back and tore through it. I recently read "Brave New World" and was totally blown away by it, but couldn't for the life of me figure out why I hated it as a kid. It's weird how the perspective changes as you get older.
