Wow! For once I have stuff that's actually worth blogging about. Although I'd like to tell you all that this is a pattern I intend to continue, alas, I'm quite sure that if I did I'd be fibbing.
I have a job! Wooo! And not only a job but one that pays money! 23k before bonuses
which is 2k above what they normally offer graduates. So Emma's a happy bunny. Means that not only can I afford my rent this month but I can start to pay back the 28k of debt I have (including 4 years worth of student loans). Can also afford to buy beers tonight for the peeps who've seen me through the last year of my degree. It's f%king wonderful to have friends you can see yourself still seeing in 30 years time. Anyway... back to the job. I went for interview on Thursday, had an hours psychometric testing, followed by a 2 hour interview - and then they asked if I would stay for a second interview. This was a long day - arrived at 9:30am (just) and left just before 3pm. Absolutely loved the place and had a really good feeling about the company and the people there. Got a call from my agent first thing on Friday morning with an offer
Listening to the new Muse album for the first time atm and it is awesome
some of the sounds are almost old school rock, but there seems to be a lot of sampling from dance tracks (and Night Rider!!!!) and some spanish guitar thrown it. Haven't heard a track I didn't like yet. Can't wait to see them Headline at the Reading Festival in August. Yaaaayyyyyy!
Last but surely not least, I get to move house on Friday. I'm currently living with my bloke Andy
and two other friends. This will be just the two of us
. Really can't wait - though it hasn't been plain sailing - we has to redo all the forms as the estate agent gave us an address for a branch that had closed down - spent most of this morning trying to get all the paperwork and references sorted. Now all is good. We can move in. Just wish it was tomorrow.
Ok so that wasn't last, but Andy just asked me if I wanted to go out to the Fez club in Reading on Monday night for the Rock Night. And I said yes. This might not sound like much but I can't remember the last time we could decide to go out last night and me not feel guilty as I have uni work, or simply that we couldn't afford it.
For once life is good
