Happy Sunday people.
Well, winter is here (finally). Jack Frost had a little nap, but he's awake now, and the chill is in the air. And I don't just mean that creepy guy standing over your shoulder who had too many pieces of Dentine Ice. No, no, the south wind is blowing hard. Only problem is, so is the North, East, and West. At the same time. You'd think they would discuss this and take turns. But I shouldn't complain, cause it's gonna get much colder. And I'll get much more Mexican. And TV will get much more....BAUER! Yes, yes, Jack Bauer is back! "24" premieres tonight, and I'm pumped as a tire about it! Two hours, tonight, two hours Monday! Sweeeetttt!!! If they made a Jack Bauer action figure, I'd be holding it right now. Perhaps inappropriately, so perhaps it's for the best.
So, I'm a movie dork. I mean, pretty much a dork all around, mind you (but I do dress pretty FANCY), so on the eve of the Golden Globes, here's my pics for the top awards (and by "top" I mean the ones I bothered to write below. Yeah):
BEST PICTURE (DRAMA): "Babel's" gonna run away with this one. And I'm completely OKAY with that...
BEST PICTURE (COMEDY OR MUSICAL): Well, since "Little Man" didn't get the nod (what's wrong with you people??!!), I guess I'm gonna have to go with "Dreamgirls." The classy vote. Whatever.
BEST ACTRESS DRAMA - I see a photo finish between Penelope Cruz (Volver) and Helen Mirren (The Queen). Then again, I also thought "Saving Private Ryan" would win Best Picture, hands down, so what the fuck do I know?
BEST ACTOR DRAMA - I think Forest Whitaker SHOULD win (The Last King of Scotland), but I think Titanic DiCaprio WILL win for "The Departed." It's fine, he was damn good in it. But Forest was GREAT.
BEST ACTRESS COMEDY - Meryl's got it in the bag for this one. Her Prada gal is untouchable. So is she. I love her so...
BEST ACTOR COMEDY - How awesome is it gonna be when Sacha Baron Cohen wins a Golden Globe for "Borat?" Pretty awesome indeed...
BEST DIRECTOR - Oh, Marty's (The Departed) got this one. He's got this one good.
And now...a picture.
Lovely.
