I have NOT been updating lately. Why, you ask? Well, see, I was using my ex-roommates keyboard and mouse cause mine had ceased to work. And then I kicked him out, and he took his keyboard and mouse with 'em. I had an extra mouse, but no keyboard. Meaning, I could check SG, but not comment. Yes, it was sad, and I did cry on several occasions. But I'm a big boy, and I've gotten over it by now. Yes, you can still send get well cards for me, but only for a few more days. Seriously, it's getting embarrassing...
I just got cast tonight in a production of ["Twelfth Night" and I'm playing Sir Andrew Aguecheek. It's gonna be gooooaaaaddd. It's a really funny part in my favorite Shakespeare play so I'm quite excited. Not as excited as when Geena Davis got her own series. Or when Molly Ringwald decided that Broadway was her calling. Or when Ashlee Simpson was born. No, no...a different kind of exciting. So if you're a New Yawker or you'll be in town, come check me out! Let me know you're coming and we'll get a beer...or a really overpriced mixed drink. It'll be a blast...
Also, I was "tagged" a few days ago from the lovely Alexsandria but without a keyboard, I could not respond. So please my dear, forgive the delay, and here I go...
20 Random Facts about Mateo
1. Hardly EVER do people actually guess what my nationality is. Usually I get Italian, Jewish, Asian, I even got Russian as of late. It is good for my acting career. But my actual nationalities are Mexican, Native American (Yaqui, Aztec, and Cherokee) and German.
2. I recently wrote, produced, directed, and co-starred in a feature film called, "DAYS." It's now hitting the film festival circuit, and I'm working on the official website now.
3. My first "real" girlfriend, which was also my first serious relationship (I was 16) told me that she was pregnant, and let me believe this for almost a month before telling me that she wasn't and adding, "I just wanted to see how serious you were about me." Just a tad crazy.
4. I ADORE movies, and I have about a million favorites. However, my top two really are "Rebel Without a Cause," and "Le Fabouloux Destin de Amelie Poulin."
5. If you really wanna make me happy, tell me how much you love the musical, "RENT," and actually know what you're talking about.
6. I originally joined this site because I'm a fan of Lennon's music. She stared posing here, so I joined, and have been addicted ever since.
7. My family on my mother's side own two wineries in the hills or Arkansas that's wayyyyyy delicious. Wiederkehr Wine, and Post Wines.
8. My best and worst relationship was on and off for a year and a half. I got engaged even. Alas, not the one for me...
9. I love girls who bite their tongue sometimes when they smile.
10. I was a Boy Scout when I was young (and am an Eagle Scout as well) so I went on fishing, hiking, and canoeing trips on a regular basis and learned to really LOVE the outdoors, even though I now live in the big city I still love it.
11. I don't drink a lot (I'm more of a social drinker), but the worst time I ever got drunk I was mugged in the Upper East Side, woke up in the middle of the street, passed out again, and woke up in front of my apartment downtown and my bank account was emptied. Mmm. Good times.
12. I'm a trained dancer in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, some Salsa, and some Swing, although Ballet and Combo are my strong points.
13. Whenever something big is happening, I usually get a scar from it. One of my favs is a ripped scar on my left hand from when I was moving to New York.
