I'm simply disgusted with the 'government' in Iran. I've been keeping tabs on all that is going on over there and its just gotten worse and worse...though I remain hopeful the opposition will pull it out and take over its going to be a long process filled with images like the one I saw yesterday that is just sticking with me
Neda
She has become the defacto poster child for the opposition. She was there watching a protest when the pro-govt militia decided to open fire. She was shot in the heart and died there on the streets with her father screaming....
I hope people there see this as the point of no return.
Today I read that a family is being denied the right to their 19 year old sons body...a kid killed in a protest...until they pay a $3000 bullet fee. They are being charged for the shell that killed their son.
Any government that not only allows such things but supports them has no business on this earth.

why do you think the media wants you to believe that iran's government is corrupt and violent?
police in the US have done similarly horrible things to protesters here. a lot of times they won't put it on the news because our media is often controlled by the same people the protesters oppose.
i'm just sayin, its all a lot more complicated than it seems.
Yes, they have the health care entitlement, but when you have the president of your country saying how homosexuality doesnt exist in his country...its just in the west, then you see pics of the lynchings and govt sponsored public executions of gay people...something is deplorably wrong.
Cops do evil stuff here all the time...I mean, look at what happened at Kent State back in the day. But, in the case of Neda there...it wasnt even cops that did it. It was the pro-government Basiji militia that decided to shoot into the crowd. It was basically a group, not official government that killed her. And there is NO way they are going to be charged with anything.
(and yes, I have a degree in history so I know things like Teddy Roosevelt leading his rough riders...a govt sponsored militia...and killed a lot of people and he became president but that kinda thing just wouldnt fly anymore in this country)
I totally agree that bad stuff happens everywhere but that doesnt mean it shouldnt be stopped. I also just wanna make clear that I, in no way, think we should do a damn thing about it. Its up to the Iranian people. We, along with the British, fucked up in the 50's with Operation Ajax...overthrowing the democratically elected leader cause he wanted to nationalize the oil fields in Iran...something the British did not want. So MI6 got in bed with the CIA and we toppled the guy...and put in an evil son of a bitch that helped lead to the Islamic Revolution in the 70s which led to where we are now...so we owe it to Iran to stay the hell out and let them settle it themselves.
