Ode to a Network Executive
I sit here at the altar of my existence.
Silent Praising Praying.
I offer up my sacraments:
Myself My life My love.
There is no time:
Only now.
There is no space:
Only here.
There is no self:
Only the shared consciousness of millions like me.
I humble myself before its greatness:
The power of mindless gratuity,
the consumption of attention;
in exchange for the pacification
of radical, rational and original thought.
If I were to abandon it,
if I were to cast away
this pacifier to perdition,
what would become of me?
I sit here at the altar of my existence.
Silent Praising Praying.
I offer up my sacraments:
Myself My life My love.
There is no time:
Only now.
There is no space:

There is no self:

if I were to cast away

what would become of me?
