damn right.
that guy's various philosophy seems to often echo my own thoughts, the more i read his work, although he's much more sophisticated in his thinking than i am at this point. basically spent the last half of his life thinking/writing in solitude and walking outside, staying as far away from academic culture as possible.
held a belief that most authors wrote huge books that truly expressed nothing so he tried to make short (and brilliant) statements about the truth of several topics at once. i'll usually read one of these and dismiss it as merely a cue to thought and after awhile i'll read the same passage and it's like, "Oh shit!!"
the weird bit is that even though he wrote in the mid/late 1800's, his books seem more relevant today. recommended stuff if modern society seems strange or extremely problematic to you.
