Well lets see what is new since last time...
I finished school for the semester! Very happy about that! I am not happy about(and this is where the rant comes in... hopefully not to long)how the school has dicked me over and saying I would be ready to have my bachelors. They say I have 1 class left... thats right 1 class left!!! I hate that the satelite program gets pretty much shit on for scholarship money, etc... Plus I guess I have to get my masters through them too, ugh!(not to bad... hahahaha)
In other news last night I went to west philadelphia to see a sweet metal/hardcore show.
Disfear(sweden)
Kylesa
Thrones(just joe preston formerly of the melvins and high on fire)
Straightjacket Nation(from australia)
Trap Them
This show was sweet as hell, I was supposed to go out with this russian girl I have had the hots for, but she canceled right when I was about to leave to pick her ass up. Glad she made that decision! I picked up my friend adam and we went to get pizza and ran into his friend jim at Allegro Pizza on the Penn campus area(thank god the kids went home!) Then went to the Millcreek Tavern and start drinking!
Trap Them started and they fuckin were tighter then when I saw them last year in some basement, plus the sound was better! They really have come a long way in a year or two! Good metal stylings mixed with punk and hardcore, give them a listen if you are into metal or punk.
Straightjacket Nation(from australia) was a band I was interested in since they were the only straight up hardcore band, also being from australia, how often would I see them. They were pretty good. They were real fast and had abrupt and sometimes sloppy pace changes, which was alright but I like smoother less sloppy changes in pace . Still they were alot of fun.
I didn't stick around for Thrones, since i have seen Joe's act twice and am not really impressed with his stylings of noise. I took a break to get pizza 2 blocks away.
I missed part of Kylesa due to being sociable. But they played good, I guess I am not to into them. I have seen them a couple times and each time sounds different. They were really tight with the added second drummer, but I guess maybe I just need to sit down and listen to the new record.
Disfear(sweden) was a ton of fun! At this point I had worked up a good buzz all for letting loose and trying to dive off the miniscule stage they had set up, and yes even with a bad ankle! Got to love what I do to my body when I have fun!!! Hell it made my night to hear them play Powerload and take out people jumping into them!
