Well I am on spring break from work... nanana pooopoooo on everyone who is working right now!!! Gosh do I love the education system!!!
I had some fun this past weekend!
Thursday night I saw an up and coming band from brooklyn play. A Place To Bury Strangers. They played with Holy Fuck at johnny brendas. A Place to Bury Strangers sounds like a very distorted Joy Division, also along the lines of Jesus and Mary Chain and a little Interpol. They are an amazing live band, very very very very loud! Holy Fuck is a lo-fi electronic rock group that doesn't use computers(which is rare for electronic rock these days). They were alright, not my thing.
Friday night I went to see Genghis Tron, Oneida, Coliseum, and some band I didn't get to see. Coliseum, metal/punk outfits from louisville are amazing, angry and pissed off at the united states among other things. they get better every time I see them! Oneida was really cool, a little out of place to have a psychrock band on this bill but they were really really really good! I have been on a Psychrock kick as of late and loving most of what I hear!!! I left before Genghis Tron. I left to hang with my friend Chris before he went back to Louisville. It was good to see him!
Saturday and Sunday were relatively quiet because I wasn't feeling so well. OH WELL!
Tonight I went to see Acid Mothers Temple and Danava at... wait you can probably guess, Johnny Brendas (I love this venue!) Well Danava was kinda eh. They were pretty blatantly ripping off Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath lick for lick and not very well I may add! Acid Mothers Temple were quite amazing! They just blast you into space with their soothing synth tones and then rip you back down to earth with shredding guitar solos that are indescribable! Also the bass lines were so fast and all over the place! It sounds like chaos when I describe it but it really is quite complex and flows together!!!
I leave you with this...Acid Mothers Temple

Have you eaten them? I don't know. I know I'm definitely having a friend pb& banana for dinner, though.
