Well the last 2 days have been fuckin fantastic!
Thursday night I went to see Hot Cross(record release)/Panthers/Transistor Transistor/Affirmative Action Jackson.
The show was excellent! AAJ kicked it off properly in the fun and fast hardcore they display! One of the older philly area acts that doesn't care how many people like them, they just keep on playing basement shows and having the time of their life!
Transistor Transistor turned it up with their grungy/ screamy hardcore. They always put energy into their shows, but some of the newer songs they played were a bit of a change I think. I have seen them better, but even when they aren't at their best they are still good!
Panthers really mixed it up with their sorta progressive rock almost psychadelic stylings. They did play some old songs of their posthardcore days, but more of the new stuff. Boy I didn't know what to think when I heard it on cd, but they were really amazing live... as always! These guys never miss a beat! I think they were probably the band of the night! Oh and pick up their new cd "The Trick"
Hot Cross who I haven't seen in a little over a year, When I heard they were putting out a new cd I was happy to go see them again! Their new songs were absolutely amazing. Enough so I bought the new cd! You all should order it, not because Billy is the Music New coordinator, but because they play awesome music. They didn't play enough of my favorites off of New Set of Lungs but their music has matured so much since their first release.
I was glad to see my friends from Panthers, there was a fun afterparty with my friends... I really need to invest in a camera, not just for band pics but to capture fun events.
Then Friday my friends and I went out to karaoke night and had a wild time. another reason I need a camera, we all looked funny as hell!
The weekend is still young, so I am still out to have a fun time!
