tonight I didn't watch the superbowl(i didn't care who won). I went out with friends to check out the tattoo convention and goto the Loved Ones/Zolof rock and roll destroyer/The Ergs show. The tattoo convention was pretty cool, it had suspensions(ouch), a good aray of tattoo artists, and sorry I didn't stop by the SG table(time restraints since my friend got a tattoo, and I wanted to but didn't get one. I am waiting for my tax return!
I then went to the show... the opener was Bookburner who was a local band and they were alright, but I wasn't to into them. They had a good song or two. but nothing impressive.
The Ergs then came on. They are a 3 piece who is a pop punk rock band whos singer is the drummer. it was weird seeing them on a stage, even if the stage is like 2 or 3 feet off the ground. I usually see them on the floor and they are surrounded. They weren't to well liked by the young crowd who came to see just one band(which kinda stinks that they aren't as open to new bands as other people are). They were my favorite of the night. Check out the Ergs! and make your own decision.
Zolof was next, they are what I can call a guilty pleasure because I don't usually like bands like this. They are a Power pop rock band with a girl singer. They had people dancing from how poppy and candy coated their tunes are. it was a fun set. Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer check em out.
Loved Ones were the headliner... phillys own! They played a pretty good set, but I am not huge on them, but they were tight tonight. They if you don't know are punk rock/some hardcore influenced music. They had the kids rockin, I got in a few stage dives(I got some in for you Clio!) but I left early since I was tired for some reason, and I have work in the morning. Plus I wasn't into the annoying kids again. They were 18 and 19 yr old frat boys who want to request Kid Dynamite songs(cause one member was in that band... lame!).
Overall the show was a lot of fun, saw a bunch of friends, and some kids I haven't talked to in a long time(even though it was Super Bowl sunday).
Well hope you guys had a fun weekend!
