Well here it is, its about time I do this!
My Germany trip update... YAY!
So my 8 weeks in Germany are up. I have traveled all around southern Germany and the likes some of Switzerland and drank there beer, fondled their women and rocked out to some awesome bands! I stayed in Stuttgart with an awesome family! I got 2 meals a day which was awesome! I studied German which was a lot of fun, but still cant speak it very well. I need to keep it up so I can speak it better! Stuttgart had some awesome things to do. They had an awesome Zoo(Wilhelma), there was the Mercedez Museum and Factory, there is the Porche Museum(which wasnt very good), the art museum, the history museum, the opera house(I saw Othello there), the planetarium, and some awesome festivals where you can get some good food and good beer! Also when I first got into Stuttgart, Germany was already in World Cup mode and I like me some Football. The first day I got there there was british invasion in Stuttgart. There was easily 100,000 englishman drinking and having an awesome time as usual. I was out in the Schlossplatz with them drinking away, ordering beer by the liter and talking with them about football. Then I notice some of them getting crazy and setting things on fire! I then get out of there... to much danger for me, knowing the british fan reputation. Oh and when the Germans played all of Stuttgart came to a stand still. Everyone was out at a bar, standing in the Schlossplatz, or watching it somewhere. It was great to experience that. I had so much fun partying with the germans. I wish I got pictures of those occassions, but I was afraid I was goin to accidentally break my camera. Oh I also got to see a few shows in Stuttgart. I saw Boysetsfire at Die Rohre(that club is built into the side of a tunner and was a nice venue). The boys of BSF were nice enough to get me in for free and backstage to party with them and drink their beers! I also saw Ignite which was fun, but those Germans dont know how to stage dive... It killed me watching them throw their hands up in the air waiting for people to crowd around and then they jumped. But fun time nonetheless!
Other travels I did outside of Stuttgart on the weekends...
I went to Heidelberg, Heidelberg is so pretty and tons of fun. I went there primarily to see New Jerseys own, The Wrens! But I got to the city early and went to the Castle, took a ton of pictures, went to the old bridge, walked around the old city! The city where I was staying was gorgous! I stayed in a Hostel right at the bottom of the hill the castle sat up on. It really was cool, except when I finally did try and fall asleep at 5 am the busses started not to long when I did get to sleep so every 20 mins it sounded like a stampede! Before the Wrens show I ran into 6 awesome kids from Luxembourg. They were really cool, they gave me free beer, and we had good times! I seriously wish I got their contacts The Wrens freakin rocked and the German crowd loved them and showed them the best response I have seen at a Wrens show. The next day I took a short trip to Mannheim, that town was nice. Then got back to the host families home, ate and slept!
Another trip I went to Constance. Constance, I really didnt know what to expect, never heard of it, but it was gorgous! It sits right on Lake Constance and has all of these pretty old buildings(obviously!), and its unique, it is split in two, One side is in Germany and the other side is in Switzerland. I went to see the aquarium there, that was fun. Then we got some food and beers and I was the only one who jumped in the Lake, it was hot! I did so in my underwear... I was dying. We then walked over to the Switzerland side and got picked up by some friends I met online and they took us to Zurich. Zurich was a lot of fun. They had some cool night clubs and some pretty girls! Oh and the chocolate is the best I ever had!
I went to this fun Midevil festival in Bretten called the Peter und Paul Festival. The towns people got dressed up in typical clothing of the locals from 1200s to 1500s and they had a fun little parade. They also turned the old city into a giant midevil market place which was a lot of fun!
I went to Nurenberg which was a fun gorgous city. They say I should go there during the christmas season, they transform the whole old city into a big ol christmas town... the jew who liked christmas!
I went to Munich for 2 days and hit up the Hofbrau House, tried the Raddler, which I wasnt a fan of... I like my beer regular, not with lemonade in it. I mainly went there to see Kaospilot and Haram. I love Kaospilot and was ecstatic to see them in europe, I hadnt seen them in a couple years and didnt think they were around anymore. But they were amazing! So fuckin good, made that trip to Munich amazing. Haram was alright, they are over hyped by people saying they are a SUPER GROUP, they have ex members of pg99, city of caterpilar, so on and so on... those bands were amazing they must be amazing! The next day I saw the art museum there and a few other sites before the 2 and a half hour train ride back. Super fun city wish I had more time to see it!
Another city I wish I stayed for to see more was Karlsruhe, I went there just to see Planes Mistaken For Stars. Which were quite awesome, most of my travels were to see shows, I know who the heck does that, but that is what I like and that is how I met some awesome people!
My last weekend I spent with my friends from school... The last friday I felt like I was in a woody allen movie!
My friends, Kian, Miguel, Edgar and I wanted to go out and have one last hoorah before we had to split and say goodbye. Two dumb Cali girls from Kians class wanted to join us, so we said sure, they seemed pretty harmless and fun. We got a 6 pack for each of us of this cheap Pilsner, which was pretty good compared to any cheap beer you get in America! We drank that out on the Schlossplatz which was awesome weather and we were having good times. After a couple hours of that we went to our favorite bar/resteraunt Zum Paulaner. They had my friends and I favorite beer, Salvator... its a double bach beer wth 8% alcohol. We all ordered a liter a piece! The girls even after they were fairly drunk split one. After the girls finished their first liter the younger sister was wasted and I was asked to get her a pizza and she went with me. The older sister gave me money, I went with the younger sister and ordered her pizza. While waiting for the pizza the younger sister says stew I have to tell you something... I get closer and she pulls me in and sticks her tongue down my throat! I wanted to get out of there pronto!!! We walk back and sit outside of the seated area, I say eat up, and open the box for her. She then pushes it aside and tackles me trying to kiss me. I could here my friends cheerin me on... but this girl wasnt very pretty at all. You will be able to see her in some of the pics, she uses to much makeup! Well the older sister hooks up with my friend Miguel a few minutes before her BF shows up! Then it all falls apart... the two sisters are wasted, and they then approach me and say "Do you believe in Jesus" I was like WHOA! I said I was a non religious jew who doesnt believe in Jesus or a very mainstream belief in god. The two kept pushing and saying Jesus is the way! I was like no he isnt and they started crying and hugging me and saying we dont want you to goto hell! They then goto Kian who is an Athiest and he gets this face like What do I do type face! We had to pry him from them and we ran and ran we did! Later on in our walk we were walking down the pedestrian street, the main pedestrian street and I was like here is Jesus and I Drop my pants and run around with my pants around my ankles! We were so drunk and I passed out when I got home with the lights on, glasses on my face and my hand in my boxers. That about sums up an amazing time in Stuttgart!
