This weekend was alright, nothing could have beat last weekend by any means so I think anything I did would have not been up to par. Friday I saw "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada" The movie was quite good, but paced weird. It was also in my mind one of Tommy Lee Jones's best performances in a movie. Him and the way his character's interaction's with Brian Peppers character.
I then went to a family gathering to celebrate my grandfathers birthday. fun stuff, food, cake and some good laughs.
Last night I went to see this show which was pretty last second but what a show! It was strictly Punk Rock! Latterman, Pink Razors, Amateur Party, The Ergs, and Firing Squad played at the the veggieplex which is this basement in West Philly. I saw this and had to go. It was that or the Smoking Popes show... which I wasn't a huge fan of anyway.
Firing Squad which is 2/3 of 1905 had good music but they were just so unemotional when they played. They just stood there and the singer just looked blankly.
The Ergs, for local jersey boys they were a whole lot of fun. They knew how to kick it. I thoroughly enjoyed their music even if some of it I wasn't to into.
Amateur Party, ex member of Kill the Man Who Questions, are one of my favorite local philly bands. Good political punk rock. Even if Mike was babblin on it was still comedic.
Pink Razors are an amazing band, if you haven't heard them and like punk rock music, get on the ball. Everytme I see them they are better, but that could be because they were the most sober I have seen them play ever.
Latterman is also quite an amazing band. They had some kickin tunes. First time I saw them and I was really impressed by the songs.
Tomorrow I am gonna spend time with 1StellaDiver and blackwell. We are goin up to NYC to see some sites since blackwell is from the UK and has to see some of the punk rock sites! It wouldn't be a trip to the US if you didn't get to see some killer sites. It should be a fun time.
