This weekend was an awesome weekend! I have been having quite a few awesome weekends lately, probably ever since I broke up with the gf back in august.
This weekend I went to see the Shark Attack reunion and I had a blast even if it was by myself(my friends I guess don't like to venture out in some what bad weather). There was good hardcore all around!
Splitting Headaches-I think are my new favorite hardcore band that is around right now. They play that fast in your face hardcore like my past favorite hardcore band once played(tear it up). Hey it has ex members of Tear it Up in the band plus the drummer from Survivors. They were awesome. Check these guys out they just came out with a 7".
Direct Control-They played a suprise set and they absolutely blew me away also. They are pissed off political punk/hardcore. Really good trio they have goin there.
Iron Boots-eh they were alright, they sound exactly like warzone if you are a big fan of Warzone. They did a bad Cro-Mags cover.
Get Real-the local fan favs, kids went apeshit for these guys, I didn't see the appeal.
Shark Attack-one of the most fun 25 mins I have had in along time! Huge pileups, kids jumpin off of things onto the pileup, skullwalking, floorpunching, two stepping, everyone goin apeshit. It was one of those shows you remember for a long time! Last time I saw Shark Attack was Edge Day 2000 when In My Eyes played their last show. Good Times!
Saturday night I went out with my friend and we went to see Syriana. This movie is really good, but not in the sense that it was cool or something good happened. The acting was good, and the plot and development were great. I recomend the movie, it is about the scandals with oil companies. The movie will make you feel "great" about being an American
Sunday was a great day, went to the bar with my Steeler fan friends and watched the game(Steelers/Bears weren't on cable cause the Eagles were at home and Fox didn't have the double header). So we enjoyed ourselves and were thrilled to see the Steelers beat the best defensive team in the NFL, plus the Jaguars lose, Kansas City lost, and San Diego lost. Steelers are back in the mix of things!
