Now the people have gone,
leaving the house
a little less empty than I feel,
I have time to think things over,
and find myself
feeling numbly disappointed
by the quality of my thoughts.
The same few words repeat:
- "Stop hurting.
It's getting boring" -
over and over,
endlessly,
monotonously,
never changing
and never making
the slightest bit of difference.


It's been a difficult day... I'm not always this bleak.
