i hate going to department stores.
i went by dillard's tonight to get some new levis since i've started wearing my other good pair of jeans to work.
the fucker followed me around the whole time i was there.
i picked up the jeans i wanted and a t-shirt, said to ashley "hey, let's look around a minute before we get these and see if they have any shirts," and walked a few yards away to look for a shirt.
he followed me and came up and said "here," - as if he was just being friendly - "let me take those for you and hold them while you browse, then you can let me know when you're ready."
what the fuck. back up off, old timer. he looked like billy dee williams.
i'm standing there in plain view holding pants and a shirt about to purchase them while glancing around the shelves to see if i want to make any more purchases and he's acting like i'm a 12 year old punk kid trying to shoplift.
not to mention i was wearing a nice gap shirt and gap hoodie and jeans i'd bought previously at dillard's. it's not like i was dressed like a ruffian or anything.
oh, and while we were browsing, ANOTHER employee came up and used the old "can i help you find something" excuse to stand around watching us shop.
then, billy dee stood and watched us finish shopping and, after ringing up my items, he followed us out of his department on our way to the door.
fucking ridiculous. i'm thinking about calling and complaining about it. who wants to shop anywhere they'll be followed and treated like criminal teenagers?
i'm almost 23 years old, well dressed, and just wanted to buy some goddamn blue jeans.
