ok my apologies for the length of this post.... i have just had a realisation and i find these things easier to work through if i type them out... as i can go through and analyze my thoughts.... and from now on i'm going to write them in here.... as you never know... someone may haven't an important point to add that i may over look
ok i just watched eternal sunshine of the spotless mind....
no a great film.... highly enjoyable but not great.... some real nice moments, and some great execution of a few things that are difficult to portray.... the erasing of memories and the trying to escape that.... but nothing complex, very linear, very simple.... not to clever... just nice
but thats not my point here... its the idea... the theory behind the film that has left me intrigued
is your relationship a product of your personality or your environment... so with a different set of circumstances and developments through the beginning of your relationship.... could your relationship then work better or worse long term....
or... are our relationships a product of our in grained personality... so no matter the circumstances, developments or situations you go through... is your relationship doomed to failure or blessed with success before you even meet... due to the fact you are who you are and if that clashes, the circumstances make no difference...
on the surface i would say the circumstances make no difference... tis wether or not your personalities work and so long term that is what will decide the fate of your partnerships...
but... thinking about it.... this may not be the case...
after all... we are a product of our circumstances environment and situations... as people we are also shaped by a combination of those around us AND our environment, situations and circumstances etc.
therefor.... maybe... a different set of circumstances, situations, events at the beginning when with the person may completely change the out come of your relationship
but not going to certain clubs, not watching certain films, not going out on certain evenings, not staying in on certain evenings... all of these things could completely change the out come of a relationship... after all a seemingly minor event while out, or in, may have huge effects on you as a person and therefor you and your partner and your relationship
therefore our relationships are also determined by the events that take place while moving through them.... it is not just down to our personalities, its down to our personalities and growth via circumstance....
so, the things you do as a couple... have just as much an effect on your relationship, as your individual personalities and what you do individually...
something i think should be realised if you really want a relationship to work...
i have seen in the last few weeks a number of films that have opened my eyes to some important realisations... even though thats not what the film was trying to do
hope you are well people
