Right CK, like I pwnd you... whatever
I was thinking today about the wonderful contribution that girls have had on the music world. I'm not talking about Hole or The Spice Girls, but all of the wonderful music made possible by broken hearts.
Think about it; Alkaline Trio, The Loved Ones, Weezer, Nerf Herder, Dashboard Confessional, Jawbreaker, and many, many others. All made great songs about either getting their heart broken by a chick, or not ever getting "the chick" to notice them.
Seriously, where would we be? Nothing but political music, rap and drinking songs. Oh, and NOFX, they've done pretty well outside the genre. But take a guy, crush him into a small, angry shadow of his former self, give him a guitar and the hits just pour out.
I guess we did have a small part to play. The token feelings that guys get around a girl who has a potential to like them, or be the One. And the feeling that nothing good could ever possibley happen for them again, until the next week, when another lucky lady ignites all of those feelings all over again.
I know I'm going to get some good comments, but I'm serious. My favorite songs are songs like these. Nothing ignites my soul like some good ol' angst.
