Everyone is going through changes
And no one knows what's going on
And everybody changes places
But the world still carries on
Love must always change to sorrow
And everyone must play the game
It's here today and gone tomorrow
But the world goes on the same

We are essentially a blank page, a white canvas when
we are born, our being as yet uncreated. The myriad
winding paths along which life might take us are
endless, providing a scope of possibility that few ever
consider, few ever conceive. Sure, there are any
number of influences, environmental, genetic, historic,
and cultural, that have an impact on us and help to
shape who we are, but it is still our choice how we
confront them, how we realize ourselves through them.
This choice, these choices are ever present, always
offered. In truth, they are unavoidable.
This is the second gift we are given after the gift of
life. This ability to choose, this freedom to be, this will
to become. Some have suggested that this is all we
really do have, our being faced with an endless
selection of choices, whether active or passive, a
constant creation and recreation of ourselves. As long
as we have breath, we are in this state of growth and
change, this state of becoming.
There are no beginnings and there are no endings, only
the eternal moment, and the eternal moment is change.
What marvel, what beauty, that we have this ability to
create the moment, to create the change.
And no one knows what's going on
And everybody changes places
But the world still carries on
Love must always change to sorrow
And everyone must play the game
It's here today and gone tomorrow
