Well, its been almost 2 weeks since my last update and a lot has happened.
Saturday (27th May) I met a few friends for a small, chilled out spinning meet in Platt Fields Park, Manc. We chilled out in the sun for a few hours, span a little, attracted the usual assortment of weirdos, then went back to Rees house for tea and biscuits. Over tea we discussed many things from plans for that evening through to the moral and practical implications of animal testing in medical advancement (we agreed that we could see each others arguments but would not be likely to solve it between us).
After tea & biscuits a few of the guys left to prepare for the night out and I hung out at Rees whilst she got herself ready. We then went out to meet up again and go to Monster Monster and party the night away. I was reluctant to go at first due to being still on crutches (well on one at least). But I found once in the club the crutch was more of a hindrance than a help so left it tucked away in a corner and bounced around like a loon without it.
Before any of you start on at me about trying to run before I can walk, it actually helped me with my walking and balance a hell of a lot and allowed me to ditch the crutches for good a couple of days later.
Sunday was spent chilling out at a mates after crashing their on Saturday night. Monday and Tuesday were also very laid back days.
Wednesday night I was supposed to be doing a fire performance with a friend at Mint Lounge, but she had to pull out due to ill health, meaning I couldnt perform. I still went along with a few friends because we knew another one of the circus performers on the bill. Night was very enjoyable with live bands, knife throwing, fire breathing and fire staff spinning, a hot lady riding a unicycle in 1920s get up and 2 guys with 3 large snakes between them.
I managed to pry a python from a friends neck for a short while to hold it for a while, but she was quite a rest-less little snake and keen to explore her surroundings. Pictures to be posted at the bottom.
After the show had ended and we managed to pry Briany away from the snakes we all went back to Brianys for more drinking and some smoking. I became very friendly with Brionys older sister, Morag and ended up sharing her bed both Wednesday and Thursday nights
Friday I went to see a show at Castlefield Arena called Insect which was an unusual, yet enjoyable show. It only cost a pound to get in and was one of the best uses of industrial welding and pyrotechnics I have ever seen. The story was a little hard to follow in parts, partly due to the actors/actresses you could here talking were talking in German (German production company).
Saturday I went to a joint housewarming/birthday party at a mates new city centre apartment where we drank until the early hours of the morning.
Sunday I went to meet friends in Manchester for another fire meet, but due to the late ness of the party on Saturday I only had a few hours sleep and was an hour late in meeting the first of the spinners.
As the day progressed I recovered fairly well and enjoyed relaxing on a field in the city centre enjoying the sun with friends. I also got to meet a friend I have recently got in touch with after about 6 years since I last saw her. It was strangely bizarre and enjoyable at the same time. And almost as if we had never lost contact, I feel a strong friendship reuniting.
Monday was a pretty laid back day, the highlight being physiotherapy at 11 am. I am progressing very well and am up to 130 degree bend in my right knee (an improvement of about 20 degrees in less than a week). I even managed 5 minutes on a bike for the second time since my crash. This time I wasnt totally drained afterwards like last time, which I am ecstatic about.
I think that is about all for now
