Ah, what a couple of days! It all started with a blast, and it was the weekend that kept on blastin'!!
CalgaryBash was amazing! <bragging rights> I GOTZ TO HANG WIT DA SG GIRLS! </bragging rights> It was all about meeting new people and having a ball doing it!
The SGs are amazing: kudos goes to the lovely and ultimately sexy Drake, Lotus and Aya (extra credits to Aya for organizing the whole thing!).
The SG guys are nothing but the cat's meow as well! I hung out with Atrasties, FreakPirate, Koosh, Leningrad, and Too-Tall!.
All these pals and gals are unique and incredible on their own, and together we're unstoppable. (Whoa, sounding like a Captain Planet episode!! I GET TO BE FIRE!!)
Wow, what a fun night! Hopefully pics will be up soon (Come on you guuuuuyz!! heh), I can't wait!
After all the partying and crazy-fun, I was so stoked that I couldn't sleep (and besides, I had to be up at 530am to catch a ride to the Okanagan!) so I threw the 1950's version of "The Thing", followed by "Young Frankenstein," and had a little horror fest in the wee hours of the morning! (It got me totally excited for Hallowe'en this year, and ideas started percolating for the annual haunted walk-through!... WHICH YOU ALL *HAVE* TO COME TO!!!!!! <== More on that when the time draws closer)
At 530, my ride came, and it was a pretty fun trip! We took our time (my buddies Justin and Pasquale) and turned a 7 hour trip into 12 hours just by stopping every now and then to sketch or paint a mountain, a river, a sasquatch... you know, whatever! Now, it may have only been cause I hadn't slept since Friday night, or maybe I was still under Jack Daniels evil spell, BUT... after we stopped in HooDoo park, I could have sworn I saw HooDoos leaping from tree to tree, following the car down the highway!! Of course, HooDoos resemble small, rat-like monkeys... it was either that, or kung-fu monks. I don't know... either/or... cause the monks could've been angry at me for making fun of their philosophy the night before! Either way, the trip was rather fun! There was no working stereo in the car, so we had to make up our own stuff: after any length of silent time, one of us would unconsciously start drumming or humming a beat. Eventually, one of the other guys would pick up on it and add a little rhythm. After a while, the last guy would start freestylin, or add a little complimentary rhythm, or do something to add to the song, IT WAS GREAT! We ended up making some pretty good sounding techno and rap tracks while doing that! UNFORTUNATELY, I keep forgetting my tape recorder!! Heh!
The trip was long, but enjoyable, and finally I arrived home in Vernon to find that my best friend Jordan (who lives in Victoria) had decided to spend the week here as well! WOO-YAY!! So, we watched a movie, and called it a night... so I could SLEEEEEEP!!
Now, today I have to pack a bunch of stuff, and figure out how I'm going to move it all back to Calgary. Boo-ya!
And, after the success of CalgaryBash, and having met all the rad people I did, I'm now going through with my Twin Tower Party at the Lodge!! I'll make a flyer as soon as I get back to Calgary, and post a link here and to the boards. It'll be fun stuff!! (the date is Sept. 11th, for sure... cause that's my birthday! HAH!)
Now... breakfast.... well, lunch I guess....
Peace, Love, and Pizza!
Joseph
