Ohhh.... holy... fucking... crap..........
holy. shit.
*literally speechless*
Dear [Dynamo],
As the Chair of the Department of Mathematics at San Francisco State, let me first congratulate you on your success. After thoroughly reviewing your educational background, we would like to extend an offer that we reserve for students who have shown exceptional achievement and progress in their educational pursuit.
As I am sure you are aware, SFSU students can enroll in mathematics courses at UC Berkeley and participate in seminars at the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI) in Berkeley. Enrolling in these seminars and courses, however, come at a fairly high price and can be a difficult task. UC Berkeley students are often favored for the positions.
After observing your work and background in mathematics, San Francisco State and UC Berkeley have agreed on providing you with a $15,000 grant so that you may enroll and participate in the MSRI lectures and attend courses in mathematics at UC Berkeley. UC Berkeley has guaranteed you a spot in any seminar or courses you choose to attend and will sustain a first-priority policy if you choose to continue your education at CAL.
MSRI is one of the premier mathematics research institutes in the United States. Members of the faculty engage in cutting-edge research into topics such as algebra, analysis, topology, statistics, chaos and dynamical systems, wavelets, game theory, combinatorics and biomathematics. These interests are reflected in a wide range of course offerings, seminars and student research opportunities. We think you will find the programs to be exciting, stimulating, and enjoyable.
Our undergraduate degree programs include a BA in Mathematics, a BS in Applied Mathematics, and a BS in Statistics. A brief description of each degree and the advisors for each follows:
..Blah blah blah. Course descriptions blah blah blah.
For further information on the mathematics major at UC Berkeley, please have a look at their web site, http://math.berkeley.edu/, for descriptions of courses, faculty, and facilities. We hope you take this incredible opportunity to further your mathematical education at UC Berkeley.
Sincerely,
David Meredith, Chair
