Where to start...
I went with my sister, her boyfriend and my boyfriend to manchester nh (verizon center) to see Isis and Tool. Met up with my dad, mum, and two friends there. so there were 8 of us.
I didnt know what to expect as this was going to be much bigger than the other shows i've seen my brothers band perform with and at.
We got there and my mum (she's a pastry chef) had brought chocolate mousse tortes for the crew and bands! So her and i went in the kitchen with their own personal chef who is from new zeland, and we decorated and got it ready for people to devour
It was very pretty and my mum got tons of compliments.
Then it was on to soundcheck- as we were going to sound check, maynard walked by us and said hi. It was so quick i was like "what??" hahaha.
Then afterwards the very awesome soundcheck was over, we all went into their room marked "isis" right next to "TOOL" Hehe, total backstage vipness!! We got to go in their own bus, check that out - omg it was so awesome, i would love to live there. telly's in every bunk, a lounge in the back with beers and drinks. Everything you need. We chilled there for awhile had a drink and got to talk with aaron (my brother) and the rest of isis. Then back inside............
The show was starting. We all had stickers that proved our v.i.p validation (which i've attached a photo, check it out!!!) all 8 of us that is. We got to stand in the special vip area while everyone else got to sit or stand outside of it. There was a cooler for vip even, beers, sodas, waters. lol it was so awesome! The show was absolutely AMAZING. Isis was so great, so beautiful and the drumming of course is my favourite part- not because its my brother but because i think it really forms the band. it was just so wonderful and they dedicated a song to the family which was very sweet.
Then tool's performace- holy shit was that rad!!!! the lights were so incredible, looked like a millon lazer beams coming at you. hehe. and the video up above you could watch with all their video footage. Maynard looked so cute up there and sung his ass off of course!
So, that was just incredible by then everyone was all smiles So we then proceeded back to the backstage room for isis and chilled out with them after performing such an awesome show. My brother gave me a bottle of wine to take home which was awesome hehehe...and my mum recieved more compliments on her amazing dessert.
Then we went outside to get ready to leave, which is always hard cos i never see my brother and its hard for everyone, as you can imagine.
Standing right next to maynards own PERSONAL bus (he has his own!) meeting justin the bass player and adam the guitarist was really awesome. i didnt even dawn on me really who they were, i thought friends of my brothers lol and it was just so natural. Then, maynard came out... and he being the guy he IS (reserved and kind of to himself for obvious reasons and personal reasons.. he's just a real laid back private person) stopped to say hello to all of us!!!!! He shook all our hands. I looked right at him and smiled and said hi, everyone did. It was so kick ass, it felt so completely natural!! He tried my mum's dessert she brought, which was extra sweet of him and then went on to his tour bus.
After all of that!!!!! : My family went and met the drummer danny too while i stayed outside with my sis, feeling a bit tired and blah like you do after a show.
Then my bro gave me and who ever wanted one, an isis hoodie which is kick ass cos they were selling them for $70! So then it was time to leave...........which was sad, but i'll get to see him again soon. And they're back on the road, back on tour tonight even and their world being so amazing and creative i cant imagine doing what he does!
I have so much respect for them. And meeting tool was just so awesome. Not in a star-struck way, just in a cool natural way. It was like meeting friends of the family.
Let me tell you, this was the most amazing show i have ever seen and it was such a delight!!!!!!!!!!
Got home around 3.45am was exhausted and couldnt hear. lol. But i have nothing but a smile even today.
Everyone there was so nice, the staff, the bands, the friends the chef & cooks. EVERYONE. A complete evening
BTW: no cameras were aloud which sucks ass but i think my dad got some on his mobile if so i'll post them in the future

I just saw Tool and Isis play in Columbus, Ohio a couple of weeks ago. After Isis played we were all talking about them because none of us had ever heard them before, we actually liked the drummer the best so props to your brother. He is very talented. You must be proud.
